One person was pronounced dead at the scene, Trotwood Police Sgt. Kim DeLong said.
The crash victim’s name was not yet released.
A vehicle rear-ended a Rumpke residential garbage truck but the driver was not injured, according to a statement from the company.
CareFlight initially was en route, but later was canceled and medics took the injured occupant to Miami Valley Hospital in unknown condition.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone touched by today’s accident,” said Randy Broadright, area safety manager at Rumpke. “Nothing is more important than the wellbeing and safety of our team and our community. We are grateful for the quick response of the emergency teams, and we will work with the responding units to conduct a thorough investigation.”
Little Richmond Road was closed between Diamond Mill and North Lutheran Church roads for the crash, which remains under investigation.
